Oval Quarter, Myatts Field North, has been shortlisted for the prestigious national Housing Design Award.

The award, a joint submission by PRP, Higgins Construction, Pinnacle Regen and Regenter, will go up against the best of the best in innovation and design across the country.

A panel of more than 20 industry experts will visit Oval Quarter as part of the judging process, with the winners announced at the award ceremony on Monday 10 July.

Pinnacle Regen Associate Director Dean Aggett said the shortlist announcement recognised the London regeneration scheme as a leading project in its field.

“Through careful – and clever – planning and design, Oval Quarter has seen a dramatic transformation of what was previously a disadvantaged estate into a vibrant, bustling neighbourhood,” he said.

“We are delighted to be recognised by such a prestigious award as one of the leading exemplar sites across the country, worthy of the national stage.”

PRP Design Director Richard Harvey said:

“We are thrilled that Oval Quarter has been shortlisted as a leading example of housing design. It is both a recognition of, and testament to, the ambition and aspirations for the project which is an example of inspiring and exemplary regeneration.”

Launched in 1948, the Housing Design Awards are the longest running awards to showcase innovation and design across the UK. The awards are promoted by all five major professional institutions –  RICS, RIBA, RPTI, Landscape Institute and Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists.
